Portrait of Steve Meijnaert

My story

From an IT education for SMEs to Fractional CIO.

My path in IT started at PIH in Kortrijk, today's Howest. It gave me a broad foundation, from networking and programming to the creative side. From the very start, that education was focused on SMEs.

Since 2005 I have worked in banking and insurance, and later in manufacturing companies. I built websites and internal applications and guided ERP and database migrations. Today I lead ERP, CRM and PIM implementations, with cybersecurity as a constant.

Over the years I kept seeing the same pattern at SMEs: a large part of the IT budget goes unmanaged. Managed services and contracts are paid for, but what is billed does not always match what is actually done. That is where I want to make a difference. Not by cutting costs blindly, but by making IT and your IT partners work for your business again.

  • 20+years of IT experience
  • 3sectors: banking, insurance and manufacturing
  • 100%independent, no commissions or reseller deals

How I work

First listen, then take the lead.

Not an outside adviser at a distance, but someone who sits at the table and takes over the coordination of your IT.

01

Introduction

We start with a conversation with the managing director. What is going well, what is not, and what do you really need?

02

Quickscan

I map your IT: partners, contracts, licences, security and compliance. The quick scan takes 1 to 2 days and is paid (price on request). That way you see what it delivers within the first months.

03

Coordination

I take over IT communication, with your partners and internally. You focus on your business.

04

Watchdog

I keep a continuous eye on security, services, applications and licences, and keep you up to date on European regulation such as NIS2.

In practice: a fixed rhythm of days on site, with remote follow-up in between (view the formulas). The goal is a long-term partnership in which I am your company's dedicated CIO.

My principles

  • Every euro spent on IT should deliver something.
  • 100% independent: no hardware, no licences, no commissions.
  • You run the business, I take care of IT.
  • Act fast where you can, keep measuring where you must.

What drives me

I get satisfaction from progress you can feel and see: employees who work more smoothly and with more enjoyment because their IT simply works, and a managing director who sees it reflected in the numbers.

Outside work, I most enjoy spending time with my wife. We walk a lot, enjoy nature and always look forward to the next holiday.

Always learning

IT and regulation change fast. That is why I keep training.
